Glass Curtains

A sculpture of glass and and at the same time an instrument.
Glass Curtains is specialy made for the project GlasslaG which had been performed during Terschellings Oerol Festival 2002 and in Eindhoven 2003.

Hughe tuned glass plates hanging in a row. Each plate is tuned and has its own complex tone colour.
Percussionists use mallets of different size and material so a variety of sound is obtained. The sounds they provoke are somewhat like bells, with complex harmonic structures. Reflections of light and projection provide interesting visual extras.
