CURRENT

The installation TRA consists of pieces of fossil wood from the North Sea.

‘During walks along the beach I regularly find pieces of wood in the strangest and most bizarre shapes. Polished, soaked with water and yet light as a feather. They are the remains of trees from a forest that once stood where the North Sea is now. At a time when the sea level was almost 100 meters lower than it is now, some 15 thousand years ago. For years the pieces of wood were locked in thick submarine peat layers. Under the influence of changing currents the fossil pieces are washed away. Before they wash ashore they keep rolling back and forth endlessly over the sandy seabed, smoothed by time'.

In 2 weekends, 10-13 & 17-21 April, the work will be exposed in an old industrial site and artcentre, La  Tannerie, Avallon (Fr.)

During RaMDaM #002 there are exhibitions, films, concerts, performances. There will be an artist talk with me on Thursday 10 at 17.00. Also on Sunday 13 at 15.00.
